You walk a working estate's lavender rows, learn how lavandin is harvested and distilled into essential oil, and can usually buy lavender products such as oil, soap or honey at the source.

Not on sale at the moment: the short winery-and-farm visits went off sale in October 2026. The farm and distillery stops come as part of a guided day trip, or a private tour; the half-day trip from Aix is the shortest guided option to the fields.

Harvested lavandin is steam-distilled: steam passes through the flowers, carrying the aromatic oil, which is then separated from the water. Many farms show the still and explain the process during the visit.

For the rows in bloom, come late June to mid-July; harvest begins around mid-July. The estate and tasting are interesting year-round, but the purple fields are seasonal.

Some farm visits assume you arrive independently, while others are part of a guided tour with transport. Check the listing — if you don't have a car, choose a tour that includes pickup.
